Australian Bush Fire Appeal fundraising

RAISE MONEY TO SUPPORT AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRE APPEAL

and

WIN A DAY OF PHOTOGRAPHY

I have just returned from a family holiday in Australia and as you are likely all aware – Australia is in the midst of one of the greatest Fire Seasons of its modern history.

Hundreds of humans and a Billion animals have lost their homes.  The smoke is so great it is effecting worldwide weather patterns.

British Columbia has also had some very scary fires over the last few Summers.  As we inhabit more remote areas of land, wild/bush fires are impacting more and more people causing immense devastation.  Climate change factors are making them harder and harder to control.

It heartens me to see that the two countries I love (Australia and Canada) lend fire-fighting support and expertise yearly to each other.  Two days ago another 70 firefighters left Canada to support the Australians.  We have seen the same generosity each summer in British Columbia from the Australian Fire Authorities.

WHAT WE CAN DO?

To play our part in helping the Canadian Firefighters I want to ask you and your firm to help me raise $3500 for Red Cross Canada and their Australian Bush Fire Appeal

I am offering a full day architectural/interior photography shoot to one firm that makes a donation.

This will include

  • 1 full day of photography of your selected project.
  • 2 image licenses for the Architect/Designer and the Contractor
  • 15 finished photographs selected by yourself.
    • Travel expenses are not included
    • Additional photographs may be selected at our usual post-production rate

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS:

On January 26th we will draw one firm randomly as the recipient of the photography day and announce it on Monday January 27th

The Architectural community in Australia through the Architects Declare are banding together to provide support in the aftermath of this disaster as well as going Carbon Neutral by the end of 2020.  Please join them as we may likely require their support in the future.

Please share this message with fellow Built Environment professionals via email and social media – we can all support each other in the face of adversity.

Thank you
